Cosas means “things” in Spanish, a suitable name for a store which sells precisely things
– but not just any things! Our ambition is to offer a range of high quality that you cannot find everywhere,
and of which, perhaps, we are even the only sales outlet.

Much of our range carries our own name or is manufactured in cooperation with designers and craftsmen.
The criterion for being included in our range is that we like the items  – and we certainly do!

We are always looking for new products made in ways that benefit both people and nature, and we are

happy that much of our range is produced in conditions that make it easier to sleep well at night.

Cosas Eco- labels

We have compiled a marking system of our goods in order to make it easier for you to make a good environmental choice. The criteria are as follows:

		Made in Sweden, made in accordance with Swedish environmental requirements.
		Made in Europe, made in accordance with EU environmental requirements.
		Hand-made, made by hand by an artisan in the artisan’s own workshop.
		Fair trade, controlled manufacture in order to ensure reasonable working conditions and social and economic development for those people who produce the goods.
		Eco-friendly, manufacturing with consideration to nature and in materials which are renewable and the production of which has as little effect on nature as possible.
		Recycled, the product is made of recyclable material.
		Vintage, a product, the quality of which is so high that despite considerable age and previous owners, it still functions and is of a high value.

Cosas’ Environmental Policy
 

All consumption affects nature, but to stop consuming is not the answer. On the other hand, we can work actively to improve and reduce effects on nature when we consume. At Cosas, we have made the following choices:

Transport
Cosas cooperates with Schenker, who actively work with environmental issues as regards their transport. Schenker is working with such things as training in driving techniques in order to reduce fuel consumption; it has been shown that just by driving in an environmentally smart way, emissions can be reduced by up to 10%. Schenker is also investing money in research into climate-neutral transport and renewable fuels.
Courier, Cosas uses cyclist couriers as a first choice when possible – second choice is couriers using environmentally classified cars.

Company car
Cosas’ company car is an environmental car which runs on biogas.

Office and packaging material
All materials which Cosas purchases in the form of consumption goods, packaging, etc., are marked with the Kravmärk quality certificate, or have equivalent marking. As regards packaging, Cosas also pays an extra environmental charge.

Computers, phones, printers, etc., are all ISO marked.

Electricity
Cosas only purchases green electricity.

Recycling
Cosas sorts rubbish at source, and recycles all packaging, either by re-using it or by passing it on for recycling.

Our range
Our range is mainly from Sweden, either direct from the craftsmen, who, without exception, make their products by hand, or from companies which manufacture in Sweden. After that, we buy products which are manufactured in Europe where the manufacturing fulfils the requirements of the EU as regards environmentally friendly manufacturing.

To the extent that we buy in new goods which are manufactured outside the EU, we require the goods to be made in such a way as to safeguard both the environment and people. Many of the goods that we sell which are manufactured in Asia are Fairtrade marked. We work actively to increase our range with ecologically and environmentally friendly manufactured products.
